Purpose of the Role at ProsperUs
As the Senior Capital Operations Manager, you will steward the systems, reporting, and operational infrastructure that support ProsperUs’ capital programming. Your work will help ensure the Capital Team operates smoothly, accurately, and responsibly while maintaining the health and integrity of the capital portfolio. 

Working closely with the Community Capital Director and the Capital Team, you will oversee portfolio operations, reporting, compliance, and process management. This highly systems-oriented role ensures portfolio data, documentation, and reporting platforms such as Salesforce and DownHome Solutions remain accurate, organized, and effective. 

You will supervise the Portfolio Manager and help strengthen the processes and systems that allow the Capital Team to maintain a healthy, well-managed portfolio aligned with ProsperUs’ mission. 

Core Job Responsibilities
  1. Portfolio Operations
    You will...
    • Oversee the operational management of ProsperUs’ capital portfolio, ensuring accurate records, timely payments, and strong portfolio health.
    • Maintain loan accounts, payment histories, maturity tracking, and borrower documentation across portfolio management systems.
    • Coordinate loan disbursements, payment processing, restructures, modifications, and collections processes in collaboration with Loan Officers and legal partners when needed. 
    • Monitor borrower compliance requirements, including insurance documentation, credit enhancements, and other portfolio protections.
    • Supervise and support the Portfolio Manager in loan servicing activities, payment monitoring, and portfolio documentation.
  2. Systems, Reporting, and Compliance

    • Manage portfolio systems such as Salesforce and DownHome Solutions, ensuring data accuracy, documentation integrity, and consistent system usage.
    • Produce regular portfolio reporting for leadership and track capital deployment and repayment across multiple funding sources.
    • Ensure compliance and reporting requirements are met for external stakeholders such as the Community Development Financial Institutions Fund (CDFI Fund), Small Business Administration (SBA), Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), and other partners.
    • Analyze portfolio data and credit reporting to identify trends, risks, and operational insights that strengthen capital programming.
  3. Process Management & Continuous Improvement

    • Lead the ongoing refinement of policies, procedures, and documentation standards related to loan servicing, portfolio monitoring, and capital compliance.
    • Identify opportunities to strengthen systems, improve workflow efficiency, and standardize operational processes across the Capital Team.
    • Collaborate with the Community Capital Director to improve portfolio management practices and support the long-term sustainability of ProsperUs’ capital programming.
  4. Some other activities you will do to support ProsperUs 
    • Continue to deepen knowledge of community development finance, equitable entrepreneurship, and CDFI operations.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure capital program data and reporting align with broader organizational metrics.
    • Support leadership with portfolio analysis and operational insights to strengthen capital strategy.
    • Assist with special projects and other tasks necessary to advance ProsperUs’ mission and goals.

  1. You have experience working with financial systems, portfolio management, or lending operations, and you are comfortable managing complex datasets and documentation.
  2. You are highly organized and systems-oriented, able to manage multiple processes, deadlines, and reporting requirements simultaneously.
  3. You are comfortable working with technology platforms and can learn and manage systems such as Salesforce and DownHome Solutions.
  4. You are skilled at translating financial or portfolio data into meaningful insights that support operational decision-making.
  5. You have strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy, documentation integrity, and regulatory compliance.
  6. You have experience supervising or coaching team members and can provide clear expectations, support, and accountability.
  7. You communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with internal teams to ensure operational processes run smoothly.
  8. You demonstrate proactive, solution-oriented approaches to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  9. You have a personal and professional commitment to intersectional equity, including dismantling racism and other forms of oppression affecting the communities ProsperUs serves, particularly Black, Latinx, Arab, immigrant, and low- to moderate-income communities.
  10. You are motivated by strengthening systems and processes that expand access to capital and support long-term community economic development.
Minimum Qualifications
ProsperUs is looking for candidates who have the following qualities and experience:
  • At least four years of experience in portfolio management, lending operations, commercial lending, loan servicing, compliance, or financial reporting. A bachelor’s degree in finance, business, data analytics, information systems, or a related field is helpful but not required.
  • Prior work-related experience and knowledge of community development lending, federal and/or state-sponsored lending programs such as the CDFI Fund, SBA Microloan, and 7A loans, as well as traditional and alternative loan programs preferred. 
  • Experience working with financial systems or portfolio management software; experience with Salesforce or DownHome Solutions is a plus. 
  • Strong analytical and technical skills, including experience working with spreadsheets, reporting systems, and financial documentation.
  • Experience supervising or coaching staff is preferred.
  • Flexibility in days and hours available for scheduled work, including regular evening engagements and occasional weekend commitments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Ability to communicate in Spanish, Arabic, French, or Bangla is a plus.

Pay and Benefits
The salary range for this position is $65,000 to $75,000; in addition, we offer these supports to help you manage your mental, emotional, and physical health:
